Question for Guide-y peeps ...

Just looked at the Girlguiding UK website ('cos of Xanthe's(or maybe even Rosie's) post) and saw a badge declaring it to be Brownies 90th year. Now I'm sure I went to a 60th celebration when I was a Brownie, but it would have had to be in 1970 or 71, which is blatantly more than 30 years ago *puzzled* ?

Was it maybe a 60th anniversary of guiding itself rather than Brownies, because that could fit in with the dates as I remember them?

Guiding was 60 in 1970...

and Brownies were 90 last year *nids*

(and I think Rainbows are 18 this...)

So it was the Guiding Jubilee I went to - considering I was only in the Brownies for 6 weeks I picked a good time then!

Am now trying to work out which Jubilee it was I went to at Foxlease then...can't remember when it was just that I was a guide and stringing thousands of runner beans, eating many mars ice creams and playing with wooden swords...

Frankly, with a programme like that, who CARES what Jubilee it was?? I want to play with wooden swords!
