Still here...

Haven't really been using this, except to read, as Facebook seems to be ok for most of what I do these days. But this is not one for sharing with such a wide audience.

Last Thursday I ended up in A&E with what my discharge notes call "immense flank pain". Turned out to be an 8mm kidney stone. I had no idea how something only 8mm could be so painful until they showed me where it was stuck 😮

I spent two nights in hospital, had a battery of tests and very good care, but they decided it was not *quite* big enough for surgery, so I was sent home with a large bag of painkillers and instructions to drink much water and try to pass it naturally. I was just about well enough to go with Mr to his guest preaching slot at the Salvation army on Sunday night, although I had hot water bottles and the key to the Major's office in case I needed a moan! It's been several bouts a day of excruciating pain - it comes on suddenly so even after I've taken the drugs (mmmmm, *nice* drugs) it still drags on for a bit.

Tuesday night the pain stopped and I was hopeful it had gone, spent Wednesday being reasonably normal, but in the early hours of this morning it started up again. My sleep pattern is horrible because I haven't slept through the night for a week.

Things I am grateful for:
A long suffering husband who always wakes up and provides a warm drink, wheat bags and cuddles.
A nice warm flat with a comfortable bed.
Painkillers!
The amazing NHS. Can't fault their care and attention, they are just trying to do too much with too little!
Spotify playlists of relaxation music, ideal for spasms.

I'm actually falling asleep typing this so I need to stop..
