Reasons to be cheerful:

I was feeling quite grumpy this morning and realised that I mostly update this LJ when I'm having a moan :-(

1. I have bought a mooncup at last! www.mooncup.co.uk
2. The Gather is now less than 2 weeks away :-) and I have a recipe for the shortbread thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mcdoobie_iom
3. We have the house to ourselves for a week.
4. I don't have to cook lunch today, because our French missionaries are doing a French lunch after church.
5. I have www.pandora.com on with Simon and Garfunkel radio, and have found loads of my childhood favourites on there. Puff the Magic Dragon, the Marvellous Toy, the Tarrier song, Whistling Gypsy, El Condor Pasa, Lord Franklin, and Over the hills and far away (with the fantastic line "over the hills and a long way off, the wind will blow my topknot off"!) so far this morning. They had a Jars of Clay song on the other day too.
6. I will hopefully see [livejournal.com profile] nepalisue on Saturday.
7. I have Google-Earthed every house I've ever lived in!
8. I have chocolate raisins :-) They're good for you, they're fruit!
9. Our inter-church youth houseparty (organised by the charity I work for) went really, really well - some of the kids on our forum are saying it's the best one they've been to so far, and some of them have been going twice a year for five years :-)
10. I've just been given some useful information which will make it much easier to do a job I have to do.

There - I was determined to get to 10.
1. The mooncup was not as easy as I'd hoped :-( But I'll persevere because I had the same trouble with tampax and contact lenses to start with ...
2. I have stomach cramps. I didn't want to take painkillers last night cos they make my mouth so dry and then I wake up coughing. But I'll take some now.
3. After I'd got up at 2am and again at 4.30 to get a drink and go to the loo, I was just dropping off again when someone thought it was a good idea to let off four very loud fireworks at 4.55am :-( They sounded like they were right outside, but probably weren't because sound seems to travel round the corner at night. Goodness only knows what they were for! My first thought was "boat in trouble" until I realised that we don't live half a mile from the coast any more, and even the river is about three miles away now.

*hugs* it took me almost a week to learn how to insert the mooncup, so you are not the only one to find it difficult.

I'm the same with my mooncup. And I'm always way too grumpy during my period to be patient with it. lol But next time, I'm going to persevere.

It took me three months before I was totally comfortable with it. But I am now, so do persevere. :-)

You are not the only one who feels like she only updates lj to moan! I must try and write something cheerful soon myself! *G*

Thanks! I tried putting it in while in the shower tonight, it was a bit easier and I thought I'd done it - until I sat down! I'm sure it will happen eventually. I never thought I'd manage contact lenses, I was ready to give up after a couple of days and then suddenly it clicked - so hopefully this will be the same ...

Isn't it wonderful when we have things to be cheerful about!

Am intrigued about the whole mooncup thing! Might just give it a go. Yes, you should be seeing me on Saturday...just let me know where and when!!

mooncup - practise between periods. Use a little oil/vaseline or even just water to ease it in.

When there's no pressure, makes the handling easier and happier.

*giggles* I did try a little lubrication last night - think I overdid it as mooncup shot out of my hand and across the bathroom! I did it on the second go though, and managed to keep it for a couple of hours before it became too uncomfortable to sleep. So I think I'm winning :-)

*grins*

have you trimmed the stem? mine's about 4-5mm which made it so much nicer...

I just checked out your profile whilst mooching around the LJ community, and saw the FlyLady thing. Then I checked out the site....is it serious, at all?!?!? What is that all about?? Enlighten me :-)

deadly serious, if a bit American! I don't follow it slavishly, but I've found a lot of inspiration on there, and I do try to declutter a bit each day and do things in 15 minute sessions. And I've cracked some housework and laundry routines of my own as a result of it, it's the only way to cope with a house this size, a job and a life (for someone like me anyway, who used to leave it all until I had time to do everything!). We've got our own little declutter_bugs community on here too, a sort of downsized English version mostly among CBB Flyers and their friends.
