noises off ...

outside - various sirens, the police helicopter going round in circles, more sirens. But every time I go to a window, the noise moves to the other side of the building - grrrr, something interesting must be happening out there and I can't see it.

And there's an ENORMOUS crane between the bus station and the shopping centre, I think they're doing something on the shopping centre roof. It is the biggest crane I have ever, ever seen and my camera is at home :-(

And the bored-ness will decrease soon - just had a call from one of my new colleagues who officially starts on 1 September but will be coming in soon to sort out a desk etc.

it's raining

very, very hard! It just came out of nowhere, it was sunny one minute and bucketing down the next. I had been thinking of going out, but I decided to play one more game of Freecell - so glad I did or I would have been soaked!
