Mr and Mrs Rev versus the self-assembly furniture -

People 1 - Furniture 2

It's a shoe rack for goodness sake! That's all! So why did it take two of us nearly three hours to put it together? Fairly proud of myself that I only had one tantrum though :-)

It came in tiny pieces - 4 long side bits, 10 shelf support bits, and 15 slats to make the shelves. Oh, and 70 screws, thankfully all the same size. But it's up now, and our porch smells of fresh pine, which is nice.

We decided to treat ourselves after that and had jacket potato and salad at the Harvester, then walked into town and had a pint of ale and a banana waffle at Wetherspoons. Just waiting for the washing machine to finish now and I shall be going to bed.

...and if anyone can explain to me how to turn that Argos url into a nice tag type thing I would be tres grateful :-)
(ETA - I seem to have managed it! Yay me!)

flat pack assembly! joy! i adore building flat pack stuff. i kind of view it as a huge 3d jigsaw puzzle, whack some music on, and entertain myself.

i do also gain pleasure from looking at maps, just cause they're ace, so you're well within your rights to think me extremely weird.

Not weird at all, I love looking at maps - I've been to loads of places on paper that I've never been to in RL!

aren't they great? i think one of the reasons that the boy and i are together is that, at a mutual friend's birthday party, we spent about three quarters of an hour discussing The Aceness of Maps, and everyone else was quite scared. i reckon at that point, he figured he'd not find anyone else daft enough to indulge him in such conversations. i know i certainly thought that!
